Pirelli’s FP FIREFIX™ system has proved itself as the fastest fixing system for contractors CIA Ltd, who successfully installed a whole fire alarm system throughout a new 10,000 sq m training centre for construction and building services, at Highbury College in Portsmouth.

The cabling took 3 weeks out of a possible 10, which had been allowed for the job, this meant that the local company saved two whole days on the total job. This was the first time that CIA used FP FIREFIX™, proving just how user friendly the Pirelli system is.
Andy Jenkins, manager at CIA said: “The FP FIREFIX™ system is good. It gives a neater job in half the time and therefore provides us with significant labour savings. The job is done quicker and then we are able to move on to the next one. It also means our installations conform to the relevant BAFE standards.”
FP FIREFIX™ was used with Pirelli’s market leading FP 200 Gold cable, which powers the analogue alarm system and Pirelli’s FP Plus cable that powers the remote signalling link. This raises the alarm with the fire brigade in the event of a fire.

Electrical wholesaler ……… based in …….... supplied the FP FIREFIX™ system, which allows the user to rapidly fix either one or two cables at once. Single and double clips are available in red or white and are designed to take the most commonly used FP cable sizes. The system can be purchased from stockists of Pirelli’s FP200 Gold and FP Plus cables, in kits of 500 fixings.
Pirelli is offering a 10-year warranty on installations of FP Plus and FP 200 Gold cables that use the FP FIREFIX™ fixing system.
