WSP is installing 2,000 metres of FP Plus as part of a £200,000 upgrade to Argyle House, a 12-story government building in the centre of the city, to bring the fire alarm system into line with the latest requirements of BS 5839.

David Low, senior engineer at WSP said: "We specified the use of FP Plus, because we are working to a strict timescale. We need a cable that is both easy to install and also meets enhanced requirements of BS 5839. FP Plus is much easier to work with than MICC and I am confident that it will help us to finish before our 12 week deadline."

Julie Croasdale, Prysmian Marketing Manager, said "FP Plus™ is an easy to install product, introduced specifically to comply with the 'enhanced' cable test requirements of BS5839-1:2002, where survival time in the BS8434-2 and BS EN50200 tests must be 120 minutes. The design advantages of FP Plus™ and ease of termination are seen as particular installation benefits, especially on projects such as Argyle House, where contractors have to work to strict time constraints."

FP Plus is fully compliant with all relevant British Standards specifications for fire alarm cabling and has been independently approved by BASEC and LPCB.
